Robredo camp tags as ‘ridiculous’ report about pre-shaded ballots

Unused or excess ballots in a town in Camarines Sur with pre-shaded votes for Vice President Leni Robredo were reportedly discovered during the third day of recount of votes related to the vice presidential race in the 2016 polls. Sources said the ballots came from Baao town, where a couple of wet ballot boxes were also found last Tuesday. However, there was no detail about the number of pre-shaded ballots. Aside from the pre-shaded ballots, sources added that the revisors found several ballots that were cut in half -- which meant that they were unused or excess ballots. They were discovered mixed in with the valid ballots with votes for Robredo. Lawyer Vic Rodriguez, spo...Keep on reading: Robredo camp tags as ‘ridiculous’ report about pre-shaded ballots.....»»

Two Eaglets, Bullpup suspended in Game 3 due to ‘acts of aggression’

Ateneo de Manila High School will be without two players while Nazareth School of National University will have one less in its rotation for the Game 3 of the Finals in the UAAP 80 Juniors Basketball Tournament. The league has suspended Blue Eaglets Amchel Angeles and Allan Tanedo as well as Bullpup Cyril Gonzales for the winner-take-all matchup on Friday at the Filoil Flying V Centre. “This office finds that all three should have been disqualified (in Game 2) and, much to our regret, will have to be suspended for Game 3 of the Finals,” executive director Atty. Rebo Saguisag said in his memo. While Ateneo lost two players compared to NU’s one, it’s still the latter team which has been put at a disadvantage because of the UAAP’s ruling. Gonzales is a key rotation player while Angeles is sparingly used and Tanedo has yet to log a single second in the championship round. The three players were all involved in an altercation near the Ateneo bench in the third quarter of Game 2 last Tuesday. Gonzales was diving for a loose ball and found Angeles and Tanedo in front of him. The two Blue Eaglets did some gestures to push the Bullpup away from them. The league said that Tanedo’s act of “taking a swipe at Gonzales” was what “triggered everything.” It also said that Angeles shoved, pursued, and then taunted Gonzales. In retaliation, Gonzales attempted to kick of Tanedo. “This office finds that his act of kicking Tanedo constitutes flagrant acts of aggression,” Saguisad said in his memo. Initially, all three were slapped with disqualifying fouls, but after further review, game officials “indirectly charged’ the technical fouls of Angeles and Tanedo to Ateneo head coach Joe Silva. Gonzales’ disqualifying foul, meanwhile, was not overturned and he was sent back to the locker room. This, according to the league, was an error in the part of game officials. As such, the officiating crew chief has also been suspended for “poor game management.” --- Follow this writer on Twitter, @riegogogo......»»
