Pagasa warns of rains in Luzon, Visayas as tropical depression nears PH

The state weather bureau on Tuesday said a southwest monsoon is affecting Luzon and Visayas as a tropical depression outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) nears the Philippines. In its 4:00 p.m. advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the tropical depression was last spotted 1,570 kilometers east of extreme Norther Luzon. It has maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center with a gustiness of 64 kilometers per hour. It is forecast to move north-northwest at 10 kilometers per hour. Tropical depression ‘Samuel’ heading to Sulu Sea

Tropical Depression "Samuel" is off the southern coast of Antique on Wednesday afternoon and is now heading towards Sulu sea, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said. In its 2 p.m. update, the state weather bureau said it last spotted Samuel at 70 kilometers west-southwest of Iloilo City, Iloilo or 120 km southeast of Cuyo, Palawan.
