Bong Go honored with Gawad Pagkilala Award at San Mateo’s 451st Founding Anniversary
On the 451st Founding Anniversary of San Mateo, Rizal, Senator Christopher "Bong" Go was honored with the Gawad Pagkilala Award at the Municipal Stadium on September 21, in recognition of his significant contributions to the community. Go then emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation in the progress of the community. Go also lauded the local government led by Mayor Bartolome Rivera for their service to the community, saying, "Nais kong bigyan ng papuri ang aking mga kapwa lingkod-bayan, sa inyong walang sawang serbisyong ibinibigay sa inyong bayan.” Go extended further support to residents who may need medical assistance from the government. Go mentioned that there are Malasakit Centers in the province that they can reach out to if they need support with their medical-related expenses. A brainchild of Go, the Malasakit Centers program is designed to help ensure that indigent patients have convenient access to the medical assistance programs offered by partner agencies. Go is the principal author and sponsor of Republic Act No. 11463 or the Malasakit Centers Act of 2019, which institutionalized the Malasakit Centers program. Currently, there are 159 operational centers that have assisted more than seven million Filipinos nationwide, according to the Department of Health. In Rizal, the Malasakit Centers are located at Antipolo City Hospital System Annex IV, Casimiro A. Ynares Sr. Memorial Hospital in Rodriguez, Bagong Cainta Municipal Hospital, and Margarito A. Duavit Memorial Hospital in Binangonan. On the same day, Go also personally attended the Super Health Center groundbreaking ceremony in the town. The event was also attended by local officials, including Governor Nina Ricci Ynares, Mayor Rivera, Vice Mayor Jaime Romel Roxas, and Municipal Health Officer Dr. Nyl Jarem Amorsolo, among others. Super Health Centers shall provide convenient access for basic healthcare delivery, offering a wide range of medical services to communities. These Super Health Centers provide services such as database management, outpatient care, birthing facilities, isolation units, diagnostic services (including laboratory, X-ray, and ultrasound), pharmacies, and ambulatory surgical units. Additional services include eye, ear, nose, and throat (EENT) care, oncology centers, physical therapy and rehabilitation centers, as well as telemedicine for remote diagnosis and treatment. Aside from San Mateo, more Super Health Centers are funded across Rizal, including two in Antipolo City and one of each in Binangonan, Jala-Jala, Rodriguez, San Mateo, Taytay, Tanay, Angono, Cainta, and Cardona. Moreover, the senator also shared that he is the principal sponsor and one of the authors of the recently passed Republic Act 11959 or the Regional Specialty Centers Act. The said law mandates the establishment of Regional Specialty Centers within existing DOH regional hospitals. Meanwhile, as an adopted son of CALABARZON, Go assured the residents of his continued support. Go concluded his speech with a call for continued unity and compassion for others, saying "Nawa'y magtuloy-tuloy ang inyong pag-unlad. Nawa'y patuloy tayong magkaisa, magtulungan, at magbayanihan upang maging inspirasyon sa iba't ibang komunidad sa buong bansa.” The post Bong Go honored with Gawad Pagkilala Award at San Mateo’s 451st Founding Anniversary appeared first on Daily Tribune......»»
Creating inclusive spaces through SM’s sensitivity training
When people are accepted, they become empowered and feel appreciated and recognized. In celebration of the International Day of Sign Language, SM Cares of the SM Group continues its mission to provide inclusive spaces as a mall for all through its yearly sensitivity training for its frontline employees. The training equips them with skills to better serve customers with different needs or persons with disabilities. Engr. Bien Mateo, senior vice president for Mall Operations and program director of SM Cares Disability Affairs, noted the company’s dedication to creating positive impacts within its communities. “Genuine inclusion starts with us,” he said. “One of the integral steps in line with this effort is by conducting sensitivity training for our employees.” Apart from SM Supermalls’ facilities, the shopping malls of SM Prime Holdings, Inc. promote inclusive spaces through features such as ramps, handlebars in comfort rooms and Braille-labeled elevator buttons. The efforts to promote inclusivity within the malls also rely on equipping its workers with the knowledge and best practices for assisting PWDs. Jay Jess Aquino, a security personnel in SM Mall of Asia for 15 years, shared how helpful the annual sensitivity training is in learning how to respectfully assist customers who have different needs. With daily interactions from different PWD communities, he shared how a simple act of acknowledging guests on the autism spectrum or persons with Down syndrome every time they playfully salute them goes a long way. (They salute us guards as they enter the mall. We are also pleased because even with our simple acknowledgment, we can already make them smile.) As SM front-liners, they must be quick to recognize guests with mobility issues to provide alternative solutions such as wheelchairs and even drive them via golf karts when available. The mall’s administration office is also open to serve as a safe and quiet space for guests who may be sensitive to several sensory inputs. His colleague and fellow security staff Rebecca Flores in Mall of Asia expressed how the sensitivity training has made her more confident to assist patrons with autism spectrum disorder over her nine-year experience in SM. She emphasized the importance of maintaining open communication and building rapport with customers on the spectrum before they enter. This approach helps dismiss any notion that security guards are intimidating. “Opo. (We see to it that we give them a lively greeting as they enter the mall because they remember you. Even in the unfortunate event of being lost in the mall, they won’t hesitate to approach you to find their way since they will recall the friendly face who said hi to them.) Flores recalled her experience when a child on the autism spectrum playfully kicked her. She remembered how shocked she was during the exchange, although the child’s parent immediately explained the situation. Flores said the child tried to get her again on the way out, but “Di ako nagalit. Mas nagpasalamat ako sa training kasi may kaalaman kami,” she said. (I didn’t get mad. I’m thankful because the training imparted learnings on this.) SM Cares, the corporate social responsibility arm of SM Supermalls and a division of SM Foundation, Inc., ensures a barrier-free and disability-inclusive environment for PWDs in all of its malls nationwide. Bong Go visits Navotas City to aid vulnerable sectors
Senator Christopher “Bong” Go, together with Mayor John Rey Tiangco and Vice Mayor Kap Tito Sanchez, led a relief operation on Tuesday, August 22, for 800 Navotas City residents, consisting of persons with disabilities, senior citizens, and indigents at San Roque Elementary School. All beneficiaries received support personally from Go through grocery packs, vitamins, masks, and meals while select recipients were given bicycles, mobile phones, shirts, watches, and balls for basketball and volleyball. The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) then extended financial assistance to the qualified beneficiaries. “Tuwing may kalamidad, tuwing may sunog, tuwing may problema po tayo, hindi niya tayo nakakalimutan…Talagang inaalala tayo, iniinisip niya tayo, at patuloy na nagmamalasakit sa inyo,” Tiangco said, referring to Go’s efforts. In addition to the 800 beneficiaries from vulnerable sectors, Go’s team is set to return today, August 23, to provide additional assistance to 200 more residents. Go, chairperson of the Senate Committee on Health and Demography, stressed the importance of prioritizing one's health and said “Mga kababayan ko, palagi tayong mag-iingat at alagaan natin ang mga sarili. Go principally authored and sponsored Republic Act No. 11463, also known as the Malasakit Centers Act of 2019. This law mandates the establishment of Malasakit Centers in all hospitals under the Department of Health (DOH), including the Philippine General Hospital in Manila City. He encouraged individuals with health concerns to visit any of the 31 hospitals in Metro Manila, including the Navotas City Hospital, that house Malasakit Centers. These centers offer a one-stop shop for assistance from four government agencies – DSWD, DOH, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, and Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office. Currently, there are 158 Malasakit Centers nationwide and, according to DOH, these centers have helped more than seven million Filipinos nationwide. Moreover, Go said Congress has allocated the necessary funds for DOH to construct Super Health Centers (SHCs) across Metro Manila, including the one in the city. “Mayroong 307 na itatayo na Super Health Center sa year 2022 sa buong Pilipinas at 322 na Super Health Center sa year 2023 sa buong Pilipinas. Bilang chairman sa Committee on Health sa Senado, sisikapin ko na maimprove ang ating healthcare system at ilapit natin ang serbisyo medikal sa ating mga kababayan,” Go said. SHCs are medium versions of polyclinics and are bigger than rural health units. The centers offer basic services such as database management, out-patient, birthing, isolation, isolation, diagnostic (laboratory, x-ray, and ultrasound), pharmacy and ambulatory surgical unit. Other available services are eye, ear, nose, and throat (EENT) service, oncology centers, physical therapy and rehabilitation center and telemedicine. In line with his vision for a more progressive urban community, Go, vice chairperson of the Senate Committee on Finance, supported various projects, including the construction of multipurpose buildings in various barangays; construction of floodwall structure along Chungkang River, floodgates along Navoyas Coastal Dike; improvement of drainage canals. He also helped secure funding for the acquisition of ambulance units, trucks, and multicabs. Aside from the said projects, the senator also supported several projects to bolster the city’s education sector, such as the rehabilitation of some facilities in Navotas Polytechnic College and additional buildings in Kaunlaran High School, Daanghari Elementary School, North Bay Boulevard Elementary School, Navotas National High School, Tangos Elementary School, San Roque Elementary School, San Rafael Village Elementary School, Tanza Elementary School, and Dagat-dagatan Elementary School. After the said activity, Go proceeded to lead another distribution effort in the city for recovering fire victims on the same day in coordination with the National Housing Authority which provided emergency housing assistance to qualified beneficiaries. Bong Go continues efforts to improve public service delivery
Senator Christopher “Bong” Go remains committed to supporting economic recovery and bolstering the healthcare system in various communities. Being an adopted son of Zambales, he continues to help improve public service delivery in the province. In a speech during his visit to Olongapo City, Zambales, on Saturday, 19 August, Go reiterated his dedication to providing immediate aid to communities in need especially the poor. Maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat,” Go said. Go and his team distributed grocery packs, vitamins, masks, and snacks to 2,000 struggling residents, composed of persons with disabilities, solo parents, and transport workers, at the Rizal Triangle Multipurpose Center. The senator likewise gave away bicycles, shoes, mobile phones, watches, shirts, and basketball and volleyball balls. Meanwhile, financial support was also extended by the DSWD to assessed beneficiaries. The relief operation was in partnership with the Olongapo City local government, in coordination with Congressman Jay Khonghun and Mayor Rolen Paulino, Jr. “Ang tawag po sa kanya ay Mr. Malasakit. “Thank you very much po. To further help alleviate the burden of poor and indigent patients, Go maintained his support for the continued operations of Malasakit Centers nationwide, including the one at President Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Hospital in Iba town. Initiated in 2018 and institutionalized under Republic Act No. 11463, which was principally authored and sponsored by Go in 2019, these centers serve as a vital bridge between the government and the people, offering streamlined access to medical assistance programs from concerned agencies, including the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Health (DOH), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), and Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO). Currently, there are 158 Malasakit Centers nationwide and, according to DOH, these centers have helped more than seven million Filipinos nationwide. “Ang Malasakit Center po is a one stop shop. One stop shop po ‘yan, lapitan n’yo lang po, para po ‘yan sa poor and indigent patients,” said Go in an interview after the event. Go's vision for a stronger healthcare sector continues through his advocacy for the establishment of more Super Health Centers (SHCs). Recognizing the importance of accessible healthcare services, especially after experiencing a global health crisis, Go has championed the cause of establishing these centers to provide primary care, early detection of diseases, and needed medical consultations to a broader range of citizens. Go cited that necessary funds have been allocated last year for DOH to construct SHCs in Iba, Botolan, and Castillejos, while another center will be established in Castillejos under the 2023 budget. The SHCs are medium versions of polyclinics and are bigger than rural health units, which offer basic services, such as database management, out-patient, birthing, isolation, isolation, diagnostic (laboratory: x-ray, ultrasound), pharmacy, and ambulatory surgical unit. Other available services are eye, ear, nose, and throat (EENT) service, oncology centers, physical therapy and rehabilitation center, and telemedicine where remote diagnosis and treatment of patients will be done. It will help decongest the hospital. Through Resolution No. 205 dated 8 August 2022, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Zambales pronounced Go as its adopted son, noting that the senator has "embodied the spirit of good governance and public service" by exerting great efforts to help the whole province. To ensure the progress of the city, Go, vice chairperson of the Senate Committee on Finance, supported the road rehabilitation along Elicano Street East Bajac-Bajac and the improvement of drainage canals in Barangay Barretto. On the same day, Go was in Subic where he was the guest speaker during the commencement exercise of Kolehiyo ng Subic, Class Matalaghay 2023. Former ‘child warrior’ fears for her life over NPA ‘kill-list’
A former 'child warrior' of the New People's Army on Tuesday expressed fear for her life after surrendering to the government. Zena Punada Segui, now 24 years old, was 15 when recruited to the New People’s Army (NPA). Segui has been very outspoken about her life when she joined the movement but also fears for her life because of the “kill-list” order. “Hindi naman lingid sa atin na kapag galing ka sa hukbo o sa NPA at bumalik ka sa gobyerno ay nandiyan na ‘yung pagbabanta sa buhay mo,” Segui voiced her fears to the Daily Tribune. Segui also shared her plight during a virtual press conference last Friday (21 July 2023) hosted by the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC). At present, Segui and her husband, a fellow former rebel, are under the auspices of the Army’s 85th Infantry Battalion. Miguela "Ka Migs" Peniero, was arrested together with Ka Rian (Rowena Dasig) last 12 July in Atimonan, Quezon. Segui said she doesn’t know them personally, and that it was battalion commander Lieutenant Colonel Joel Jonson who showed her the recovered kill-list order. While she admits that she fears for her life and that of her husband, she said she too is well aware of the NPA threat. Despite all the threats, Segui once more appealed to all NPA remnants to surrender and return to the fold of the law. Meanwhile, Jonson assured Segui and all the others the military will be always mindful of their safety and security. “We always provide them security escorts every time they go out from the camp. We’ve to know their whereabouts to ensure they are safe and secured,” Jonson said. Inside the camp where the former rebels are temporarily staying, Jonson said they formed a small cooperative for them. “Nagtayo po kami ng FR Cooperative, sila na rin po ang nangangasiwa doon,” he said. “Continuous po ang ating mga gawaing pang-kabuhayan upang makatulong as part of our sustainable effort for the former rebels,” he added. Bong Go emphasizes support for local infra, healthcare in Tagum City
Senator Christopher "Bong" Go on 13 July attended the inauguration of the newly constructed Sangguniang Panlalawigan Building in Tagum City, Davao del Norte. In his address, Go underscored the importance of local infrastructure development to enhance public service delivery and reaffirmed his commitment to improving healthcare access at the grassroots. Go also expressed his gratitude to the people of Tagum City, saying, "sa totoo lang po, huwag po kayong magpasalamat sa amin. He then acknowledged the efforts of Davao del Norte Governor Edwin Jubahib as represented by Provincial Administrator Josie Jean Rabanoz, Vice Governor Oyo Uy, and Tagum City Mayor Rey Uy, praising these leaders for their unwavering commitment to public service. He, likewise, highlighted the selfless work of uniformed personnel across various institutions, such as the Philippine National Police, the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, the Philippine Coast Guard, and the Bureau of Fire Protection. On the same day, Go also attended the groundbreaking of the Super Health Center in the city and aided indigent residents. As chair of the Senate Committee on Health, Go highlighted his support for the establishment of Super Health Centers across the country. Go mentioned that a Super Health Center is set to be established in the city, as identified by the Department of Health. Additionally, Super Health Centers will be constructed in the Island Garden City of Samal, Carmen, Talaingod, and two more in Panabo City. Recognizing the importance of accessible and affordable healthcare services, Go also promoted the services of the Malasakit Centers as a one-stop shop for medical assistance programs. Go encouraged the beneficiaries to take advantage of the Malasakit Center at the Davao Regional Medical Center. The Malasakit Centers program, initiated by Go in 2018, aims to streamline the process of availing medical assistance by bringing together various government agencies under one roof. Go is the principal author and sponsor of Republic Act No. 11463 or the Malasakit Centers Act of 2019, which institutionalized the Malasakit Centers program. Concluding his address, Go reiterated his commitment to both infrastructure and healthcare development in the country, a testament to his dedication to improving the lives of Filipinos, particularly those in Davao del Norte. Itrato n'yo lang po akong kapitbahay ninyo,” said Go.
In a recent interview, Senator Christopher “Bong” Go expressed deep gratitude and humility for the trust bestowed upon him by the Filipino people, saying, “Salamat po sa inyong tiwala at patuloy po akong magtatrabaho para sa Pilipino. Go received overwhelmingly positive feedback from Filipinos in a recent survey conducted by PUBLiCUS Asia Inc., called PAHAYAG 2023. This prompted Go to express his heartfelt gratitude for the people’s unwavering trust and support while emphasizing his commitment to continue his work to help and uplift the lives of Filipinos in need. The PAHAYAG 2023 Second Quarter Survey (PQ2) was carried out from 7 to 12 June. This nationwide purposive survey consisted of 1,500 respondents, who were randomly selected from a market research panel comprising over 200,000 Filipinos maintained by PureSpectrum, a panel marketplace with a multinational presence. The respondents were distributed across five geographical areas: National Capital Region (NCR), North Central Luzon (NCL), South Luzon (SL), Visayas (Vis), and Mindanao (Min). The sample only included registered Filipino voters, ensuring that the survey results accurately reflect the sentiments of the voting population. According to the said survey, securing the fourth and fifth spots were Go and fellow Senator Maria Imelda "Imee" Marcos, who gathered 39 percent support each, solidifying their positions as formidable contenders in the upcoming 2025 elections. Go maintained that he remains steadfast in his resolve to fulfill his duties and responsibilities as a public servant. Furthermore, Go said that he is determined to work tirelessly in order to address the pressing issues faced by the Filipino people, especially the poor, the hopeless, and the helpless who need government attention the most. Bong Go inspects infra project, aids indigents in Cebu
Senator Christopher “Bong” Go visited Naga City, Cebu on Wednesday, 12 July where he inspected the seawall project and government vehicles that he had advocated funding for as vice chair of the Senate Committee on Finance. He also aided indigent residents of the city. Go has consistently championed the need to support local governments in their efforts to develop and implement infrastructure projects and improve public service delivery for their constituents. Accompanied by local officials, including Congresswoman Rhea Gullas, Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, and Naga City Mayor Valdemar M. Chiong, Go toured the seawall project site, inspected the acquired vehicles, including an ambulance unit and other multipurpose vehicles, and engaged in discussions regarding other opportunities to further help the community. Go also led a relief operation at Barangay Poblacion tennis court. In his address, the senator reiterated the importance of cooperation between national and local government units in pursuing progress and development. He emphasized that progress could only be achieved through a united and collaborative effort, with local governments playing a crucial role in identifying and implementing projects that address the specific needs of their communities. Maraming salamat talaga, salamat mga Bisaya,” said Go. Aside from the projects he inspected, Go also supported the construction of a slope protection structure in Brgy. Balirong, rehabilitation of a public market and several multipurpose buildings. On the same visit, Go helped around 2,000 struggling Cebuanos by providing grocery packs, vitamins, and masks. Meanwhile, select residents received shoes, shirts, mobile phones, watches, bicycles, and balls for basketball and volleyball. Yan si Senator Bong Go," Governor Garcia expressed. In line with his vision to provide a better healthcare system, Go, as chair of the Senate Committee on Health and Demography, likewise highlighted the establishment of more Super Health Centers in the country, including the 19 centers that will be established in the province of Cebu. Super Health Centers offer database management, out-patient, birthing, isolation, diagnostic (laboratory: x-ray, ultrasound), pharmacy, and ambulatory surgical unit. Other available services are eye, ear, nose, and throat (EENT) service; oncology centers; physical therapy and rehabilitation center; and telemedicine, which makes remote diagnosis and treatment of patients possible. Bong Go leads relief op in Tagum City, Davao del Norte
A day before his birthday, Senator Christopher “Bong” Go personally spearheaded a relief operation for more than a thousand disadvantaged Filipinos in Tagum City, Davao del Norte on Tuesday, June 13. Recognizing the significant impact of various crises on poor communities, Go, together with Congressman Pantaleon “Bebot” Alvarez and Governor Edwin Jubahib, made it a priority to provide relief and support to affected individuals and communities to uplift the lives of the poor. Go expressed in his speech. Sanay akong magtrabaho dahil yan ang nakasanayan ko noon pa man for the past 24 years,” he added. Held at the Davao del Norte Training Center, Go and his team distributed grocery packs, masks, vitamins and shirts to 1,500 struggling residents. Some beneficiaries also received mobile phones, shoes, watches, caps, and balls for basketball and volleyball. A team from the Department of Social Welfare and Development was also in attendance and extended financial assistance. Simultaneously, Go also provided more support to the community in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment through its Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program which held an orientation for another 721 individuals in the same venue. The said beneficiaries received similar additional assistance from Go’s office. The senator took the opportunity to commend DOLE for its proactive approach in addressing the challenges faced by disadvantaged and displaced workers. The TUPAD program, aims to provide emergency employment and livelihood opportunities to those who have lost their jobs or sources of income due to crisis situations. Recognizing the importance of accessible and affordable healthcare services, Senator Go, Chair of the Senate Committee on Health and Demography, also promoted the services of the Malasakit Centers as a one-stop shop for medical assistance programs. In his remarks, Go encouraged the beneficiaries to take advantage of the Malasakit Center at Davao Regional Medical Center in the city. The Malasakit Centers program, initiated by Go in 2018, aims to streamline the process of availing medical assistance by bringing together various government agencies under one roof. Go also mentioned that a Super Health Center is set to be established in the city, as identified by the Department of Health. Additionally, Super Health Centers will be constructed in the Island Garden City of Samal, Carmen, Talaingod, and two more in Panabo City. Super Health Centers offer database management, out-patient, birthing, isolation, diagnostic (laboratory: x-ray, ultrasound), pharmacy, and ambulatory surgical unit. Other available services in Super Health Centers are eye, ear, nose, and throat (EENT) service; oncology centers; physical therapy and rehabilitation center; and telemedicine, where remote diagnosis and treatment of patients will be done. Through the collective efforts of fellow lawmakers, sufficient funds had been allocated for 307 Super Health Centers in 2022 and 322 in 2023. The DOH, as the lead implementing agency, identifies the strategic areas where they will be constructed. To help contribute to the city’s progress and improved connectivity, Go, who also serves as Vice Chair of the Senate Committee on Finance, likewise supported the construction of roads in several barangays. On the same day, Go attended the First Year Davao del Norte Insurgency-Free Anniversary at the Davao del Norte gymnasium. He also graced the groundbreaking of a Super Health Center and led another distribution activity for more indigents in Carmen. ### The post Bong Go leads relief op in Tagum City, Davao del Norte appeared first on Daily Tribune......»»

In line with the government’s efforts to enhance the healthcare infrastructure and services in the country, Senator Christopher “Bong” Go, Chair of the Senate Committee on Health and Demography, attended the groundbreaking of Maco Super Health Center in Davao de Oro on Thursday, 25 May. The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by local officials, including Governor Dorothy Gonzaga, Maco Mayor Arthur Carlos Voltaire Rimando, and Vice Mayor Alvera Veronica Rimando, among others. Go expressed his gratitude to the people of Davao de Oro for their unwavering support and trust in the Department of Health’s initiative. He likewise expressed his anticipation that the said health facility would positively impact the health and well-being of the community. Senator Go recognized the dedication and hard work of the healthcare workers, acknowledging them as the frontliners who tirelessly serve the community, saying, “Gusto kong pasalamatan ang lahat ng frontliners sa panahon ng pandemya. He then emphasized the importance of accessible and quality healthcare services, particularly in remote and underserved areas like Maco. Super Health Centers are improved versions of polyclinics that offer database management, out-patient, birthing, isolation, diagnostic (laboratory: x-ray, ultrasound), pharmacy, and ambulatory surgical unit. Other available services are eye, ear, nose, and throat (EENT) service; oncology centers; physical therapy and rehabilitation center; and telemedicine, where remote diagnosis and treatment of patients will be done. The senator’s team conducted the relief operations at the respective town and city halls where they distributed grocery packs, shirts, masks, vitamins, and snacks to a total of 54 fire victims while representatives from the Department of Social Welfare and Development provided financial assistance to further help with their recovery. Go’s team also gave away shoes, caps, and balls for basketball and volleyball to select recipients. Go in a video message. The senator continued that the government remains committed to prioritizing better fire response and preparedness following the enactment of Republic Act No. 11589 or the Bureau of Fire Protection Modernization Act that would strengthen the firefighting capability of the agency. As mandated by the Act, which Go primarily authored and co-sponsored, the bureau undergoes a ten-year modernization program, which includes acquiring new modern fire equipment, hiring additional personnel, and providing specialized training for firefighters, among others. Go, who serves as the head of the Senate Committee on Health and Demography, offered medical assistance to those with health concerns. He advised them to seek the services of the Malasakit Center at Bukidnon Provincial Hospital in Maramag. There are also nearby centers at Northern Mindanao Medical Center and at J.R. Borja General Hospital in Cagayan de Oro City. In addition, Go also supported the funding for the establishment of Super Health Centers for 2022 in Malaybalay City and the towns of Kadingilan, Sumilao, Kitaotao, and Pangantucan — which he visited last March. This year, more Super Health Centers were funded for the towns of Kalilangan, Manolo Fortich, Maramag, Quezon, San Fernando, and Talakag. Go, as Vice Chair of the Senate Committee on Finance, likewise supported several initiatives in the province to ensure unhampered service continues. Among the projects is the funding for the construction of an evacuation center, municipal building, and local access road as well as an electrification and solar lights project in Damulog; and the construction of a slaughterhouse, multipurpose building, and the Northern Bukidnon Agri-Industrial Economic Zone Road Network and Southern Bukidnon Agri-Industrial Economic Zone road network development projects in Don Carlos. Moreover, he helped the province in the improvement of road links in Baungon, Libona, and Talakag; access road leading to the Bukidnon Airport; farm-to-market and local roads in Cabanglasan, Kadingilan, Kibawe, Kitaotao, Lantapan, San Fernando and Talakag; and other road linkages throughout the province.
Ano bang kahulugan nito? Salamat. What Korina Sanchez-Roxas wants to teach young girls about money
Popular broadcaster Korina Sanchez-Roxas is successful, sweet and independent – especially when it comes to money. During a media conference for her show “Rated Korina” held in Quezon City recently, Korina revealed that she never asked money from her husband former Senator Mar Roxas II. “Pero may anak kami so hati kami. Korina said that her being a breadwinner in the family when she was younger taught her how to value money. Ako yung taga-bigay,” she said. When asked if she gives money to her husband, Korina laughed and said: Oo naman. Abonado ako madalas.” Korina said she wanted to teach her daughter Pilar the importance of earning money for herself when she grows up. “I choose that. I can hold myself. I don’t bother him much. Ma-regalo naman siya. Wala na nga akong hinihingi so siyempre may regalo dapat,” said Korina as she smiled. Asked if the gifts she received were expensive, Korina said: “Hindi naman mayasdo. Korina said that they do not go out of town that much these days for their bonding moments because they already have children. Pag seven years na yan, ayon sa batas,” the award-winning broadcaster said. Korina Sanchez-Roxas When asked about plans to have more children in the future, Korina said in jest: “Saka na natin pag usapan ‘yan. Working mom ako.” Korina said that she misses her kids – Pepe and Pilar – when she goes taping for several days. “Masakit yung anak mo na hindi mo nahahawakan from afar. Magki-kiss kami may salamin. Araw-araw ako naka Face Time, 2-3 times a day. Pati tagaluto sa kusina kilala nila,” she said. “Ilongga ang anak ko! Si Jess, si Jiss. Si Pepe, Pipi! Sabi niya ‘ako man, ako man!’ Gusto ko ituro sa anak ko you have to make the most of your time. You don’t just watch TV the whole day,” she said. Produced by BrightLigt Productions, Korina said that she is excited for her journey on TV5. There will be some issues but nothing political. Marami namang gumagawa ng ibang programa nun. Sasawsaw pa ba tayo dun? Four stories every week.” Rated Korina, a news magazine and lifestyle show, will be launched on Saturday, Oct. 24, on TV5, 4-5 p.m. Korina brushed aside competitions with other networks, saying this is not the right time to tear each other down. “If aint broke, why will you fix it? Kami nga iyong ginagaya di ba? The more the merrier. Now is not the time to tear each other down. The signs of the times, it’s teaching us that there’s something wrong in what we’re doing so ayan! Mag re-boot kayo. Siguro concentrate na lang in doing good,” she said. Korina also denied reports that she will be appointed to an executive position on TV5. “No! I’m director level pero never ako nagkaroon ng tauhan. Kasi I would like to be on-cam. Maybe later on,” she said. But Korina said that she’s not closing her doors for any opporunities in the news department. “Later on siguro. Hindi naman mawawala iyan. Pag-isipan natin. Korina also shared some secrets for success in the broadcasting industry. “The glamor part is 10 percent. Ninety percent is hardwork. Hard work talaga ‘yan. In anything you do, you need to work well. Kahit nag-gigisa ka lang ng sibuyas, you have to do it well. Just do it well at hindi ka mawawalan.”.....»»
