The tug-of-war for Terrence Fortea is already underway
Three of Nazareth School of National University's core four have already taken the next steps in their young careers. Gerry Abadiano and Carl Tamayo have decided to take their talents to the University of the Philippines while Kevin Quiambao has relocated to De La Salle University. That leaves Terrence Fortea to lead the Bullpups as they try for the three-peat. After that, though? Who knows? Abadiano, Tamayo, and Quiambao have their own takes on it. The three were asked by sportswriter Randolph Leongson on The Prospects Pod, "Saang school niyo gusto pumunta si Terrence Fortea?" And the answers came as swift as the shots Fortea puts up. "UP, siyempre!" Tamayo said. "Ii-screenan ko siya nang ii-screenan." Fellow Fighting Maroon Abadiano seconded the statement. "Bibigyan ko lagi ng bola yan," he said. If the 5-foot-11 gunslinger decides Diliman is the way to go, he would join Abadiano in the backcourt as well as holdover James Spencer, transferee Joel Cagulangan, possible returnee Juan Gomez de Liano, and probable recruits Colin Dimaculangan, Jordi GDL, and Ray Allen Torres. However, Quiambao, of course, has other plans. As he put it, "Dito na lang sa La Salle. Ga-graduate na si Aljun." Indeed, Aljun Melecio is playing his fifth and final year and Fortea would stand alongside transferee Evan Nelle in the green and white backcourt. The final answer, of course, remains with the 18-year-old. And right now, he has none. "Support lang sa tatlong kuya ko," he commented while watching the vodcast. --- Follow this writer on Twitter, @riegogogo......»»
