Pribadong sasakyan at pampublikong transportasyon, bawal sa motorcycle/bike lane sa P’que
Manila, Philippines – Sinimulan na kahapon ng lokal na pamahalaan ng Parañaque ang pagbabawal sa mga pribadong sasakyan at pampublikong transportasyon na gamitin ang lane ng motorsiklo at bisikleta sa kahabaan ng Sucat Road sa lungsod. Ito ang napag-alaman kay Parañaque City Mayor Mayor Edwin L. Olivarez na siyang nag-utos sa Traffic and Parking Management Office (TPMO) para sa implementasyon ng Ordinance 2020-23 na nagtatalaga sa outer lane ng Sucat Road (A. Santos Avenue) hanggang Ninoy Aquino Avenue bilang lane ng motorsiklo at bisikleta kabilang ang mga guidelines at penalties ng naturang lokal na batas. Sinabi ni Olivarez na sa ilalim ng naturang ordinansa, ang inner lane 12-kilometrong haba ng Sucat Road ay para sa mga pribadong sasakyan, ang gitnang lane ay para sa mga delivery trucks, vans at iba pang mahahabang sasakyan habang ang outer lane naman ay nakalaan para gamitin lamang ng mga motorsiklo at bisikleta na may kulay asul na road markings at signages na naaayon sa international standards. Ayon kay Olivarez, ang mga sasakyang mahuhuling nakaparada sa lane ng mga bisikleta at motorsiklo ay may katumbas na multang P1,000 sa bawat paglabag dito. Gayundin naman sa mga mahuhuli na mga motorcycle riders na magmamaneho sa labas ng kanilang eksklusibong lane ay pagbabayarin din ng multang P1,000 habang ang mga nagbibisikletang hindi gagamit ng lane na inilaan para sa kanila ay pagbabayarin naman ng P500 na multa sa bawat paglabag na kanilang gagawin. Ang mga lumabag sa naturang ordinansa ay padadalhan ng notices at tickets sa pamamagitan ng polisiya na no contact apprehension ng lokal na pamahalaan na sinimulang ipinatupad noong taong 2018. Hinimok din ni Olivarez ang publiko na i-report ang kanilang mga nakikitang sagabal sa bike lanes habang nakiusap naman ang alkalde sa mga motorista na kanilang patuloy na panatiliin ang pagbibigay daan sa bikers sa lahat ng oras. Paliwanag pa ni Olivarez na ang paggamit ng bisikleta ay hindi lamang paglilibang na nagbibigay ng magandang kalusugan sa pangangatawan ng isang tao kundi isa na rin itong paraan ng transportasyon lalo na ngayong panahon ng pandemya na dulot ng coronavirus disease 2019 o COVID-19.
