The Davao City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) has provided immediate assistance to the victims of the recent fire incidents in Calinan and Matina. The Office of the Civil Defense-Davao Region (OCD-Davao) has issued a warning about potential landslide and flood risks due to the easterly weather system. Franz Irag, operations officer of OCD-Davao, emphasized the continuous rains brought by the easterlies could lead to flash floods and landslides in the Davao Region. He urged residents, especially those in flood-prone areas and near landslide-prone slopes, to be vigilant and coordinate with the local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) offices. The office is closely monitoring and coordinating with local authorities for preemptive evacuation if necessary.
