‘Bahay Pag-asa’ clinches DSWD Level II accreditation
The Department of Social Welfare Development has conferred Las Piñas City’s Bahay Pag-asa a Level II Certificate of Accreditation for its high compliance to the recommendations of the agency. Las Piñas Mayor Imelda Aguilar announced the conferment of the highly sought accreditation as she highlighted that the city was the only local government unit in Metro South that received the Level II accreditation from the DSWD. The DSWD informed the mayor on the city’s completed compliance on their recommendations on the assessment of the center conducted by their technical staff, Christie R. Reamico, on 9 to 10 February 2023. The letter addressed to Aguilar and to Lowefe T. Romulo RSW, officer-in-charge of the City Social Welfare and Development Office was signed by Atty. Megan Therese Y. Manahan, director IV, DSWD Standards Bureau. The DSWD issued the Level II Certificate of Accreditation to Bahay Pag-asa after getting a perfect 290/290 points for Level I application and satisfactorily meeting the desired requirements for Level II Accreditation with 123/150 points equivalent 82 percent. According to the DSWD, the issued certificate to Bahay Pag-asa will remain valid for five years and must be displayed in a conspicuous area in the center. As part of the DSWD Reportorial Requirements, the bureau asked the city to submit the Annual Accomplishment Report and at the same time encourage the center to sustain the rendered quality of services as they will conduct continuous monitoring of the center’s program implementation during the validity of the Accreditation Certificate. The mayor said the children at risk and those who are in conflict with the law confined at the center were receiving various services like educational, spiritual, do gardening and others. Social workers assigned at the center are diligently working hard for the confined children and soon be accepted in the city’s community, Aguilar added.
