A drug peddler was nabbed in a buy-bust operation in Quezon City on Thursday. Quezon City Police District District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) Officer-in-Charge P/Maj. Wennie Cale identified the suspect as Emilio Tayao, 25 years old, a resident of Brgy. Bagong Pagasa, Quezon City. Cale said the DDEU operatives, in coordination with PDEA-RO-NCR, conducted a buy-bust operation at 12:30 a.m. on 19 October 2023 in front of No. 125 Warayan St., Sitio San Roque, Brgy. Bagong Pagasa, Quezon City, after a concerned citizen reported the illegal drug activity of the suspect. A police officer acted as a poseur buyer bought P20,000 worth of shabu from the suspect, and at the given pre-arranged signal, he was arrested. Confiscated from the suspect were 55 grams of shabu valued at P374,000, a coin purse, a cellular phone, an identification card, and the buy-bust money. P23.6-B narcotics seized in PBBM term
Authorities have seized P23.62 billion worth of narcotics across the country since the start of the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency said on Monday. The latest PDEA data also showed 61,269 were arrested, including 4,174 high-value targets, during 44,338 anti-illegal drugs operations from 1 July 2022 to September 30 this year. It said a total of P23.62 billion worth of illegal drugs which includes over 3,000 kilograms of methamphetamine hydrochloride locally known as shabu, 25.78 kilograms of cocaine, 43,940 pieces of ecstasy, and 2,739.93 kilograms of marijuana were apprehended. Authorities likewise dismantled 683 drug dens and one clandestine shabu laboratory during the same period. At least 27,748 out of 42,046 barangays (villages) have been declared drug-cleared as of September 30 while 7,785 are still drug-affected. The barangays with drug-cleared status were issued certifications by members of the oversight committee on the barangay drug-clearing program. In a related development, Quezon City Police District Director Brg. Gen. Redrico Maranan on Monday said that 817 drug suspects and confiscated P41,124,151.60 worth of illegal drugs in a series of buy-bust operations conducted for the third quarter of this year in the city Maranan also said that a total of 458 anti-drug operations were conducted by the different police stations and units of QCPD which resulted in the confiscation of 5,699.72 grams of shabu, 18,442.13 grams of marijuana, and 158 grams of Kush or high-grade marijuana. Operatives of the Manila Police District Police Station 13 arrested two suspected drug peddlers believed to be members of the “Batang City Jail” on Sunday morning at the Baseco Compound in Port Area, Manila. Police identified the suspects as King Banal and John Rongcales, both residents of Baseco Compound. They were arrested around 5 a.m. Sunday along Barangay 649 in Port Area. Reports disclosed that the arrest was made following a complaint filed by the barangay about the presence of illegal drug peddling in the area. Police conducted a test buy and then a buy-bust operation, where a police poseur buyer transacted with the suspects and led to their arrest. Confiscated from the suspects were one piece of P500 bill and five pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu with an estimated weight of 5.3 grams worth P36,040. Personnel of Special Operations Unit 3 together with anti-narcotics authorities of Muntinlupa City Police in coordination with PDEA Regional Office-NCR arrested two drug suspects in a joint buy-bust operation under COPLAN LUPINE at Summitville, Barangay Putatan, Muntinlupa City, past 7 p.m. on 22 September. Arrested suspects were identified as James Regonay y Marcalda, 37 years old, and Dante Cleofe y Lopez, 48 years old, both residing in Barangay Putatan, Muntinlupa City. Suspected pushers yield P102K shabu, firearms
Quezon City Police have arrested two drug pushers who yielded P102,000 worth of shabu and firearms in a buy-bust operations early morning yesterday. Quezon City Police District Director P/Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan said the suspects were collared by operatives of Novaliches Police Station 4 led by P/Lt. Col. Jerry Castillo, who identified the suspects as Reymarc Calceta, 27 years old and Maria Nicole Repollo, 24 years old, both residents of San Jose del Monte, Bulacan. According to Castillo, PS 4 operatives, in coordination with PDEA-QC, conducted a buy-bust operation at 5 a.m. and arrested the duo in front of Novavets Animal Clinic and Grooming Center along Susano Road, Barangay San Agustin, Novaliches, Quezon City. The police officer said the arrest came after a concerned citizen reported the illegal drug activities of the suspects. A police officer acted as a poseur buyer and bought P7,500 worth of shabu from the suspects, and at the given pre-arranged signal, they were arrested. Seized from the suspects’ possessions were 15 grams of shabu worth P102,000; a black pouch; one identification card; a unit of motorcycle; a cellular phone; and the buy-bust money. Likewise, one caliber.38 revolver and four pieces of .38 full metal ammunition were confiscated from suspect Calceta. The suspects will be charged with violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Additional charge for violation of RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and violation of Omnibus Election Code in relation to Comelec gun ban will be filed against suspect Calceta before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
