ONE Championship reaches out to victims of Taal Volcano eruption

ONE Championship was quick to extend a helping hand to those who were affected by the recent eruption of the Taal Volcano in the province of Batangas on 12 January. The Home Of Martial Arts distributed 1,000 shirts to those who were displaced by the calamity, which has directly affected more than 100,000 people in the provinces of Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, and some parts of Metro Manila.  The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) has already raised the alert level to four, saying that a hazardous eruption remains imminent even today.    ONE athletes have also reached out to their compatriots, encouraging their fellow Filipinos to stay strong amid the trying times. “To all my countrymen in Taal, stay safe and I know that you guys can go through this. I’ll always pray for them and I expect them to rise above it, get back what they lost,” Team Lakay head coach Mark Sangiao said.  Like his head coach, former ONE Flyweight World Champion Geje “Gravity” Eustaquio showed great concern with the situation, and he promises that help is on the way.  “It's not our first time to encounter this situation, we were tested for how many times and we always end up on top, still. Filipinos have the warrior spirit in them and that is hard to conquer,” Eustaquio said. “Don’t worry we will face this test as a team, as a nation, and as a family. Support is coming, and we got your back in different ways. We pray for you our dear brothers and sisters. Never give up.”  As the dust settles and the tens of thousands of people rebuild their lives, on 31 January the Philippines will prove to the world their World Champion spirit.
