Ilocos Norte province has been placed under a state of calamity due to the damage caused by Typhoon "Ompong,", the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) in Ilocos Norte said on Monday. "The Sangguniang Panlalawigan through a Resolution No. 2018-09-265 has declared the province of Ilocos Norte under STATE OF CALAMITY due to damages brought by Typhoon #OmpongPH," the PIA said in a Twitter post.
