PlayStation counts ‘bigger, fewer games’ among E3 skip reasoning

"Bigger, fewer games," the ability to reach fans, retailers and press at other times, and a lack of big announcements this June are among reasons for Shawn Layden, chairman of Worldwide Studios at Sony Interactive Entertainment, to have PlayStation skip E3 2019. At the 2018 Electronic Entertainment Expo, Sony's console brand PlayStation focused on an unusually narrow band of four games: "Marvel's Spider-Man", "God of War", "The Last of Us Part II" and "Ghost of Tsushima". Two of those were launched toward the end of the year, leaving "The Last of Us Part II" and "Ghost of Tsushima" in the hopper, though with release dates still unannounced. Nintendo had already reconfigured ...Keep on reading: PlayStation counts ‘bigger, fewer games’ among E3 skip reasoning.....»»

PlayStation Classic uses emulator once used for video game piracy

The PlayStation Classic was Sony's answer to Nintendo's retro consoles. While the move was hardly a surprise, what helped its conception certainly was. A review made by Kotaku recently discovered the retro console ran its collection of PSONE games using a derivative of the original PCSX emulator for the PC, as reported by TechCrunch. Emulators are basically software made to run games made for a specific platform on a different platform, particularly on the PC. The discovery made by Kotaku came with a bit of irony that the software once used to run pirated copies of the PSONE was chosen by Sony itself to run the PlayStation Classic. Apparently the ARM port of the PCSX emulato...Keep on reading: PlayStation Classic uses emulator once used for video game piracy.....»»
