His last bout on US soil was his comeback bout from his very brief retirement against Jessie Vargas back in 2016.  This will be Pacquiao's first bout under new promoter Al Haymon and Premier Boxing Champions.  This also marks the return of Freddie Roach's return to Pacquiao's corner after being absent during the Pinoy boxer's last bout against Lucas Matthysse back in July of 2018.  Broner, a multiple-time world champion in his own right, is looking to get back on the winning track after going winless in his last two outings, a loss to Mikey Garcia followed by a draw against Jessie Vargas. .....»»

Stronger and Faster at 40: Manny Pacquiao works out in Las Vegas

It didn't take long for Manny Pacquiao to get work in as he arrived in Las Vegas, Nevada.  The eight-division boxing world champion and reigning WBA (Regular) Welterweight World Champion immediately resumed training, less than a day after he and his entourage touched down at the boxing capital of the world, just days ahead of his world title defense against Adrien Broner.          View this post on Instagram                   Pacquiao starts 1st vegas workout #pacquiaobroner A post shared by Dyan Castillejo (@dyancastillejo) on Jan 15, 2019 at 12:53pm PST Manny footwork — DYAN CASTILLEJO (@DYANCASTILLEJO) January 15, 2019           View this post on Instagram                   Coach Freddie , BUBOY , Justin after this : You’re there Manny 👍 #pacquiaobroner A post shared by Dyan Castillejo (@dyancastillejo) on Jan 15, 2019 at 1:39pm PST It was a light day in the gym for the 40-year old, doing some shadow boxing and hitting the mitts, as training usually tapers down as the fight nears.  In an interview with ABS-CBN's Dyan Castillejo after the workout, Pacquiao said that he was ready to go.   "It’s all set, I’m ready for the fight, nothing to worry about," said the Filipino boxing icon.  With regards to his opponent, Manny says that it's all about utilizing what was worked on in training.  "Kung ano yung style niya, napag-handaan na natin, yung focus and then kailangan wag kalimutan yung ginawa sa training." At 40 years old, Pacquiao is definitely on the older side, especially in boxing. But as can be seen in his training, it doesn't seem like he's lost too much oomph in his hands and pep in his step, which he says is nothing short of a blessing.  "Yes, I feel that [I punch harder], andiyan pa yung lakas natin and yung footwork nandiyan parin, bihira lang yung ganito. We’re so blessed by God kasi iilan lang yung boxer na umabot ng 40 and ganito pa din ka-liksi gumalaw," Pacquiao shared.  In Broner, Pacquiao will be facing a man who's eleven years his junior.  The two square off at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Saturday, January 19th (January 20th, Manila time). .....»»

Bets are on for Pacman to take out Broner in January 20 bout

Experts are confident world boxing’s only eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao is beyond ready to defend his WBA Welterweight title against former four-division world titleholder Adrien Broner this January 20, which will air live on SKY Sports Pay-Per-View. After the Filipino boxer tasted his first knockout victory in years last 2018 when he fought Matthysse, Pacman (60-7-2, 39 knockouts) returns to the boxing capital of the world, Las Vegas, determined to replicate the feat. Pacquaio’s consultant, Freddie Roach, and his sparring partner, undefeated Australian contender George Kambosos Jr., both believe that the boxing icon will be too much for Broner to handle.    Even veteran boxing analyst Dennis Principe shared that Broner is not a threat for Pacquaio and he will have an easy time dispatching the American boxer.     Meanwhile, Broner (33-3-1, 24 KOs), is ready to fight his heart out against Pacquaio. He acknowledged that winning against the legendary boxer will be a highlight of his career.    The fight is available to all SKYcable, One SKY, and SKYdirect subscribers nationwide for P949.   By subscribing to the Pacquiao vs Broner PPV, subscribers will have access to the live, commercial-free and in high or standard definition viewing of the Pacquaio vs. Broner and a replay on the same and day right after the live event.   Call 418 0000 or your local office or visit to subscribe.
