MANILA, Philippines - Another Filipino drowned while swimming in a river in New Zealand, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said on Thursday. The Philippine Embassy in Wellington said the 20-year-old victim drowned in Whanganui River, 150 kilometers northwest of Wellington on Wednesday. His body was recovered on Thursday. A Filipina worker in Kuwait died after reportedly jumping from her employer's residence on Tuesday, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said. The DFA in a statement on Wednesday said the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait is coordinating closely with authorities there who are investigating the death of the household service worker. An overseas Filipino worker (OFW) who was saved from death row in the Middle East has been released from prison and is set to come home to the Philippines, Migrante International said on Wednesday. In June 2017, Jennifer Dalquez was acquitted of murder by the Court of Appeals in Al Ain for killing her employer who attempted to rape her in December 2014.
