LTFRB approves P2 jeepney minimum fare increase

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has approved a provisional fare hike of P1. "The board in its regular meeting approved tonight a provisional fare increase of P1 for the first 4 kilometers for PUJ (public utility jeepneys) plying [the] NCR (National Capital Region), Region 3, and Region 4 routes," LTFRB board member Atty. The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) will continue to distribute fare matrices to jeepney drivers pending its review of the fare hike that it approved recently. LTFRB Chairman Martin Delgra said on Wednesday that the fare matrices would soon be posted online. "As suggested by the committee on transport, we'll make available the matrix on the website," Delgra said in a press briefing. According to some reports, the new fare martix costs P610, but Delgra clarified that it only costs P570.
