Biazon to be buried among fellow heroes
Former senator Rodolfo “Pong” Biazon, a former chief of staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, will be laid to rest on 20 June at the Libingan ng mga Bayani, after an 11 a.m. funeral march. This was disclosed by his son, Muntinlupa Mayor Rufino “Ruffy” Biazon in a Facebook post yesterday, as the family expressed gratitude to those who have offered their love, support, and prayers. The wake for Biazon will be held from 13 to 18 June at Chapels 2, 3 and 4 of Heritage Memorial Park in Taguig City. Public viewing is from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. with a daily Mass at 7 p.m. Biazon passed away on Monday, 12 June, Independence Day, after a bout with lung cancer and pneumonia. He was 88. On 19 June, Biazon’s remains will be brought to the Senate for a necrological service at 10 a.m. A final wake will be held also on 19 June at the Holy Child Chapel at Philippine Marines Headquarters in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig, beginning at 5 p.m. A Holy Mass will be held at 8 a.m. on 20 June to be followed by the burial.
