Baseco druggies nabbed
Three individuals, including a woman, were arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by operatives from the Manila Police District Police Station 13 in Baseco Compound, Port Area, Manila on Sunday morning. The suspects were identified as Sheryl Asistio, Berlindo Alvarez and Arnel Paler — all residents of Baseco Compound. Police said they received a tip from barangay authorities that the suspects were involved in the illegal drug trade. A buy-bust operation was then conducted, which resulted in the arrest of the suspects. Confiscated from the suspects were one piece of P500 bill with markings from the Special Drug Enforcement Unit and 11 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu valued at P35,360. The suspects are facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. They have been detained at the Manila Police District-Station 13.
