P23.6-B narcotics seized in PBBM term
Authorities have seized P23.62 billion worth of narcotics across the country since the start of the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency said on Monday. The latest PDEA data also showed 61,269 were arrested, including 4,174 high-value targets, during 44,338 anti-illegal drugs operations from 1 July 2022 to September 30 this year. It said a total of P23.62 billion worth of illegal drugs which includes over 3,000 kilograms of methamphetamine hydrochloride locally known as shabu, 25.78 kilograms of cocaine, 43,940 pieces of ecstasy, and 2,739.93 kilograms of marijuana were apprehended. Authorities likewise dismantled 683 drug dens and one clandestine shabu laboratory during the same period. At least 27,748 out of 42,046 barangays (villages) have been declared drug-cleared as of September 30 while 7,785 are still drug-affected. The barangays with drug-cleared status were issued certifications by members of the oversight committee on the barangay drug-clearing program. In a related development, Quezon City Police District Director Brg. Gen. Redrico Maranan on Monday said that 817 drug suspects and confiscated P41,124,151.60 worth of illegal drugs in a series of buy-bust operations conducted for the third quarter of this year in the city Maranan also said that a total of 458 anti-drug operations were conducted by the different police stations and units of QCPD which resulted in the confiscation of 5,699.72 grams of shabu, 18,442.13 grams of marijuana, and 158 grams of Kush or high-grade marijuana. Jerry Castillo that led to the arrest of 74 drug personalities and the confiscation of P9,363,399.60 worth of illegal drugs followed by the District Drug Enforcement Unit under officer-in-charge Maj. Wennie Ann Cale who apprehended 29 drug peddlers and confiscated PHP8,851,200.00 worth of shabu and marijuana. Likewise, the Kamuning PS 10 under Lt. Col. Baseco drug peddlers netted
Operatives of the Manila Police District Police Station 13 arrested two suspected drug peddlers believed to be members of the “Batang City Jail” on Sunday morning at the Baseco Compound in Port Area, Manila. Police identified the suspects as King Banal and John Rongcales, both residents of Baseco Compound. They were arrested around 5 a.m. Sunday along Barangay 649 in Port Area. Reports disclosed that the arrest was made following a complaint filed by the barangay about the presence of illegal drug peddling in the area. Police conducted a test buy and then a buy-bust operation, where a police poseur buyer transacted with the suspects and led to their arrest. Confiscated from the suspects were one piece of P500 bill and five pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu with an estimated weight of 5.3 grams worth P36,040. Cops arrest drug suspect on birthday eve
A high-value target was arrested a day before his birthday in a buy-bust operation carried out by the personnel of Parañaque City Police SDEU that took place at 4:20 p.m. on 16 September along Filipinas Avenue, Brgy. San Isidro in Parañaque City. The apprehended suspect was identified by P/BGen. Roderick D. Mariano, director of Southern Police District (SPD), as Nasrudin Ayob Libas, alias Camsa, 33 years old. Coincidentally, his birthday falls on 17 September. The police confiscated during the operation five heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, with an estimated combined weight of more or less 100 grams, valued at P680,000; one genuine P1,000 bill used as buy-bust money; and one blue coin purse. The seized illegal drug items will be handed over to the Southern Police District Forensic Unit (SPDFU) for quantitative and qualitative analysis. Operatives of the Quezon City Police District on Saturday reported the arrest of three drug peddlers and the confiscation of P1,080,000 worth of Marijuana in a buy-bust operation conducted by the operatives of Novaliches Police Station 4. P/Lt. Col. Jerry Castillo, Station Commander of PS 4 identified the three suspected drug pushers as Elton John Pangilinan, 24 years old; Christian Paul San Jose, 27 years old; and Rhay Van Lumanog, 22 years old, all residents of Barangay Bagbag, Novaliches, Quezon City. The report shows that PS 4 received information from a confidential informant regarding the illegal drug activities of the suspects in the area of Barangay Bagbag, Novaliches, Quezon City. Acting on the report, a buy-bust operation was conducted in coordination with PDEA-NCR at 3:30 a.m. on 16 September at Masterkee Carwash along Quirino Highway, Barangay Bagbag, Novaliches, Quezon City. A police officer acted as a poseur buyer and bought P35,000 worth of marijuana, and at the given pre-arranged signal, they were arrested. BI arrested 3 foreign fugitives in Cavite
The Bureau of Immigration arrested one Taiwanese and two Nigerian nationals in the back-to-back operations it conducted this week. The BI Fugitive Search Unit (BI-FSU), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office - National Capital Region, National Bureau of Investigation - Task Force Against Illegal Drugs (NBI-TFAID), and government intelligence units conducted a joint buy-bust operation on September 13 at a popular mall in Imus, Cavite, which led to the arrest of two Nigerian nationals who were identified as John Chukwuemeka Enuka, age 41, male; and Ugochukwu Christopher Nwabufo, age 31, male. The two were arrested after being caught selling illegal drugs in violation of Section 5 in relation to Section 26, paragraph B, and Section 11, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, during the operation conducted by the authorities. The authorities seized a large stash of marijuana and heroin with an estimated street value of P8 million. The BI said that based on their records, Nwabufo has already overstayed his visa. He arrived in the Philippines in 2022 and never left the country. Menuka, Enuka has worked for a company in the country, but he failed to present his documents during checks. Moreover, on 14 September in General Trias, Cavite, BI-FSU operatives arrested a Taiwanese national identified as Chen Kai-Wun, a 55-year-old male. According to the BI, the Taiwanese authorities designated Chen as a wanted alien and declared him a fugitive from justice. Based on the report of the Taiwanese authorities, Chen is the subject of a warrant of arrest issued by the Shilin District Prosecutors Office in violation of the Controlling Guns, Ammunition, and Knives Act of Taiwan in May 2023. He is allegedly the leader of a notorious Taiwanese arms trafficking organization. Chen is also involved in facilitating the illegal entry of other Taiwanese fugitives into the country. Allan Nobleza on Friday narrated that anti-narcotics agents arrested two drug peddlers during the first drug buy-bust operation at Hayfah compound, Barangay Gadongan in Marawi City about 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Nobleza identified the arrested drug peddlers as Rahib Solaiman Cayugan alias Mosep, a resident of Making, Parang, Maguindanao del Norte and Norain Anto Gunda, a resident of Barangay Pindolunan in Butig in Lanao del Sur. Seized from the two suspects were 1.025 kilos of suspected shabu worth P6.97 million. Police disclosed that two other individuals were able to elude arrest after sensing that the group was dealing with government anti-narcotics operatives. Those still at large were identified as Aripoden Kiram Ander and Rania Musor Maca-angcos, both residents of Tubod in Lanao del Norte.
