Department of Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade has ordered the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) to decrease the fares of jeepneys following the slump in fuel prices. This was the announcement of LTFRB Chairman Martin Delgra on Monday, saying that the order of fare rollback may be released within the day. However, no final details were provided yet on how much the fare would decrease. The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on Wednesday clarified that the fare matrix for jeepney drivers costs only P560, not P610 according to some reports. LTFRB chairman Martin Delgra said the regulatory fee was per "franchise." Hence, it would cover more then one jeepney.
