Teen rider rams farmer crossing the street

  LUCENA CITY -- A pedestrian died after a speeding motorcycle driven by a teenager accidentally bumped into him in San Narciso town in Quezon province late Saturday, police reported. A report from the Quezon police headquarters said King Tumbiga, 22, a farmer from San Andres town, was crossing a road in Barangay (village) Villa Reyes when themotorcycle driven by a 16-year-old boy hit him at about 10:30 p.m. Rescuers rushed the victim, who sustained serious head injuries, to the San Narciso municipal hospital but died along the way. Six dead in Tondo fire

Six people, including three children, died in a two-hour fire that struck a dilapidated building in Tondo, Manilaon Tuesdayafternoon. Senior Insp. Redentor Alumno, Manila's chief arson investigator, identified the fatalities as a certain Anabel, Juliana Bermudo, 13; siblings Isabel, 8, and Bryan Ygonia,7; and Jojo Castigador. Suspect in prosecutor‘s killing shot dead while grappling with jailer for gun

Almost two months after his detention, the main suspect in the killing of a five-month pregnant prosecutor in Quezon City was shot dead after grabbing the gun of a police officer on Saturday morning. Tisoy Argoncillo laid to rest in Iloilo

ILOILO CITY ---The young man who died on June 19 while in detention in a Quezon City jail was finally laid to rest on Saturday afternoon in his hometown in Barangay Bagongon in Concepcion town. Genesis "Tisoy" Argoncillo, 22, was arrested at his elder sister's residence in Quezon City for loitering without a shirt outside their house. He died four days later in jail. Barber arrested for carrying bladed weapon dies in jail

A 41-year-old man arrested for carrying a gaff, a metal spur used in cockfighting, died on Monday shortly after he collapsed at the Paraaque City police station's congested jail. Senior Insp. Jerry Sunga, chief investigator of the Paraaque police, said the autopsy report showed that Gabriel Garay Jr., a barber, died of a heart attack. Sunga told the Inquirer that the custodial facility currently holds 150 detainees who share a space meant for only 60 people.
